Obesity Awareness & It’s Management - Conference

Obesity is no longer simply a cosmetic concern—it is a complex, chronic health condition closely associated with diabetes, hypertension, fatty liver disease, cardiovascular disease, and several other metabolic complications. With the understanding and management of obesity evolving rapidly, staying updated with current evidence and treatment approaches is increasingly important for practising clinicians. The “Obesity Awareness and Its Management – Current Trends” conference brought together practising doctors for a focused and clinically relevant discussion on the contemporary understanding, assessment, prevention, and management of obesity. The programme explored how obesity is evaluated in clinical practice and highlighted the importance of a comprehensive, long-term approach rather than focusing solely on weight reduction. no longer a cosmetic concern — it is the common root of diabetes, hypertension, fatty liver and cardiovascular disease. This conference brought practising doctors up to date on how obesity is understood, measured and managed today.

Sessions covered evidence-based lifestyle and behavioural interventions, appropriate clinical assessment, pharmacological management, and newer therapeutic approaches including incretin-based therapies. Discussions also addressed identifying patients who may benefit from advanced interventions, including bariatric surgery referral, as well as the importance of individualized treatment plans and long-term follow-up in routine outpatient practice. The conference also provided an opportunity to discuss the challenges clinicians encounter in managing obesity in real-world settings, including maintaining treatment adherence, addressing associated metabolic conditions, and supporting sustainable lifestyle changes. The programme concluded with an interactive clinical discussion, allowing participating doctors to engage with the faculty, discuss practical challenges, and explore approaches to managing complex obesity cases.

The conference was held at Central Electronics Limited (CEL), Sahibabad, under the banner of Hypercube ASAP Foundation, with the aim of promoting evidence-based medical education and strengthening clinical awareness around the evolving approaches to obesity management.
